Syria

Over the past year, we have seen the conflict and tragedy in Syria reach terrible levels.  The suffering of innocent women and children is heartbreaking to see. The United Nations estimates that over 10,000 people have died and 100,000 people are displaced from their homes. Each day, thousands of families are caught up in the violence; refugees fleeing their homes, without food, shelter or clothing. Our Save the Children of Syria aid programme began in Jordan where thousands of refugees from Syria have gathered.

By donating as much as you can either personally in Masjid to Mufti Imran or via a charity organisation Ummah Welfare Trust you can provide emergency aid to a family for a month and help succour the cries of children.

We hope you are able to support this noble cause and help us reach thousands of children and poor families across the region.

One Response to Petition: Help the Muslims in Burma that are being part of an ethnic genocide

  1. Slimane Benslimane says:

Why are we muslims idle when our brothers and sisters are being butchered in Burma and have no way to defend themselves. Just giving them our donations is not enough. What they need is political support and lobbying to make their cause heard in the world. Yes donations are helpful temporarily, but how is it going to help the families who are burned alive and facing the sheer barbarity of a military regime that wants all of them dead and mutilte their bodies.
Where are the Islamic satellite channels and the Islamic media generally? They need to be a lot more positive than just collecting donations.
I think it is our duty as muslims to organise a huge march in London towards the Burmese and Bangladashi ambassies and by the parlement houses in Westminster, we also need to involve the human rights activists to give the cause an international flavour. The Islamic media can help in covering the event.
It is the best way in my opinion to raise awareness and make the cause known. Shame on Bangladesh, They let their fellow muslims being savagely killed, raped and tortured and they don’y want to help. Where are the big muslim nations? Can’t they take Rohingyas as refugees. If every muslim country does that, the economic burden is shared amongst the muslim ummah and it can only few families each.
I didn’t mention Syria so far, because the Syrian conflict is widely publicised in the main streem media and has no need for more media coverage. The Rohingyas problem on the other hand, is not well known to the general public and I feel they are being slaughtered in the darkness of a media black out. Let’s start the ball rolling, brothers and sisters and as they say ” a journey of a 1000 miles starts with one step”.
It is not something one can do by oneself, it needs the full muslim community acting in a positive way.
